Mustang Island, Texas

Date Fished: 10/02/04 Water Temperature: 84Water Clarity: 6 foot
Fish Pass Jetties -Located on the beach next to Mustang Island State Park, this short jetty gives anglers a high and dry perch to fish the gulf surf. The basic angling style is dead bait on the bottom, but live mullet or shrimp works best. I used red/white top dog and caught a few spanish mackeral and one red. Because the jetty extends beyond the breakers, it often allows anglers to fish calmer, clearer and more productive waters. Great place to use your polorized sunglasses and cast net.
