Much better day today, we arrived around 7:00am and my brother caught a 4 pounder at my new spot using a green and orange spinnerbait. We both limited out, and I only managed to get a 3 pounder. Great fishing day with my brother.

Went out with my brother and really had to work to limit. Seems they are not aggressive right now. Only fished for a few hours, but will return tomorrow.

I had one of the best fishing outings in my life -a buddy of mine and I-caught and released 50+ Black bass in and around hydrilla. Using Salt and Pepper Lunker City Fin-S Shad. 20 were dinks under and around 14" the rest were quality fish. We actually got so tired we had to stop. We fished from 1:00pm-5:00pm- Not bad for half a days work.

I just got back from Padre Island National Seashore yesterday. What a trip! On thurs and friday the park service closed the south beach due to high tides associated with the reformation of Ivan. It was reopened saturday morning. The beach was a highway. Finger mullet and dusky anchovies were thick all the way to the Port Mansfield jetties. Jackfish, tarpon and sharks were present in the mix. I got spanked by a couple of tarpon in the 80-100lb range. Most the guys in our group had several Jacks smoke 'em on light tackle. It was a great weekend.

Primary points with chug-bug type of baits early, switching to t-rigged worms and lizards in watermelon w/chartreuse and red-shad colors, caught fish in 10-12 ft., around hydrilla with hardwoods, and submerged brush, I am also expecting the fish to start moving into the backs of some coves pretty soon with these cooler temps, with that I would also throw a white spinner-bait.
