Lewisville Lake-Lewisville, TX
Date Fished: 03/19/06 Water Temperature: 56 Water Clarity: 0

I had so many omens and fish gods telling me not to fish this one.
It had been raining 24 hours already I first learned the night before around 12:00 am that I had left my hooks, weights and my hard tackle in Ty's car from the Lake fork trip. I had to make a run to walmart and get only the essentials.
I hadn't slept and set out in the pouring rain--When I arrived in Lewisville I was behind a drunk driver who made me wait until he either crashed or got of the freeway. After I long passed the driver I headed for the lake ramp, but couldn't seem to find it. I had been there many times before, but not at night.
After a good 30 min I found it and waited for my boater to arrive. He was suppose to meet me at 5:30am. A man who parked next to me knocked on my window and asked if I had a hanger. He said his buddy locked his keys in his car and if I had a hanger maybe he could unlock it. I told him I didn't.
The phone rang and it was my boater letting me know that he had arrived. I grabbed my gear hand headed towards him, but then stopped and realized what I had done. I locked my keys in my car. Luckily his friend was also fishing and had a slimjim and after a good fifteen minutes he was able to unlock it.
From 6:30-2:30 was nothing but freezing rain and lightning with no fish. My hands and feet were numb from being cold and wet.
I didn't realize how much it had rained until my way home and saw cars underwater and creeks higher than I had ever seen them--it came out in the news the next day of the huge floods in DFW.
For the love of fishing.
Update:
I am currently in 23rd along with many others.
